【摘要】:Theprocedureisintended,primarilytoevaluatetheabilityofaleatherspecimentowithstandfixed,andratherstrenuous,launderingconditions.Thistestisnotintendedasarecommendedwashingprocedure,neitherhouseholdnorcommercial.Althoughthistestconcernsitselfwithcolorfastnessandtransferofcolorduringwashing,thewashedleatherspecimensareavailablealsoforcomparingotherproperties(thatis,tensilestrength,areachange,changeinoutline,etc.)withthoseofunwashedsamples.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthecolorfastnessofcoloredleathers,withorwithoutasurfacecoating.Theleatherstobetestedareofthetypenormallyexpectedtowithstandfrequentlaundering.Thistestmethodalsocoversthesimultaneousstainingofadjacenttextilematerialswhentheleatherspecimensarewashed.Thistestmethoddoesnotapplytowetblue.Twoproceduresarecovereddependingontheapparatusused:1.1.1ProcedureA,usingtheLaunder-Ometer,and1.1.2ProcedureB,usinganalternativewashingmachine.1.2Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesstatedinparenthesesareprovidedforinformationonly.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.

【摘要】:Asphaltandpitchdonotgothroughasolid-liquidphasechangewhenheated,andthereforedonothavetruemeltingpoints.Asthetemperatureisraised,theygraduallysoftenorbecomelessviscous.Forthisreason,thedeterminationofthesofteningpointmustbemadebyanarbitrary,butcloselydefined,methodifthetestvaluesaretobereproducible.Thistestmethodisusefulindeterminingtheconsistencyasoneelementinestablishingtheuniformityofshipmentsorsourcesofsupply.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthesofteningpointofasphaltandpitchintherangefrom50to180Cbythecup-and-ballapparatus,andgivesresultscomparabletothoseobtainedbyTestMethodD36.Note1-IfthesofteningpointofasphaltbythisMettlercup-and-ballmethodfailstomeetspecifiedrequirements,testsmaybererunusingtheTestMethodD36(ring-and-ball)softeningpointapparatusasarefereemethod.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
